For Charlie Brown please. Yesterday afternoon he got home from a walk after a while he started shaking and was vilantly sick everywhere. Then he continued to shake. It was like he was fitting but he was stood up and awake! I took him to the vet who admitted him straight away. After i had left he had a full fit and the vet rang me to say she was taking him to a bigger practice in the town who could keep a constant watch on him through the night (my vets are a small village practice). She was worried he had epolepsy and needed monitoring incase he fitted through the night. Luckly he didn't fit again. Today he came back to my practice and i could visit him. He was pleased to see me but still has tremours and looked very sorry for himself. The vet says he feels like he has a bad hang over. They no longer think he has epolepsy but think he had eatern slug pellets although we have no idea where he got them from as we don't use them as we know they can kill dogs and with 4 jackrussels at home we have to be careful. The vet was cautiously optimistic today saying the first 48hours are the worry and although he's not through that yet the improvement he's made is encouraging. So please send him lots of vibes as he has had such a hard time so far in his 7 mounths of life. He was born by emergancy cesarian and i had to hand feed him his first night as him mum was to ill. We didn't think he would make it then and i hope he makes it now he's my baby and such a lovely person i don't want to loose him.

Laura, where are you in the country? Sorry to be alarmist but friends told me this afternoon that there had been two deliberate poisonings near them this week (in Larne, NI, if anyone is near there).

Thankyou to you all. I'm in the new forest area. Poor dogs i hope they are ok who would do that on purpose! they must be sick. Poor Charlie is realy ill but we live in the middle of nowhere so i don't think he was done delibratly but i hope they catch whoever that is.

OK, no worries, the one over here was rat poison, hidden in chocolate

Hopefully it was an accident, and I really hope he pulls through xxx

Fingers crossed and loads of vibes for Charlie Brown. There do seem to have been quite a few cases of random poisonings of dogs recently, so is a possibility some sick person is responsible. Might be worth your vet mentioning it to the police, they do seem to take it quite seriously. If nothing else a warning in the local press might be a good idea.
