Just found this on fb, soo sad for me just for the last one, i feel so guilty, i just couldn't be there. My dad was there for him, and he loved him too, I really hope he understands that i loved him so much and will regret not being there for the rest of my life.

RIP, my lovely boy!!

How true. I wish so much that every animal owner viewed things like this. :(

I was at a show last Sunday (local show) for the first time in 15 years competing and I was nothing short of disgusted at the behaviour of not just one or two competitors, but numerous throughout the day. Shocking, disgusted shouting, swearing, smacking, kicking, yelling spoilt people. I am no airy fairy bunny hugger, and don't get me wrong I will reprimand my mare but the amount of pointless and ineffective physical punishment which I saw was unbelievable. Nevermind the fact that these people had small kids (as did I with me for the day) which were witnessing this sort of behaviour. Half of the horses were hardly misbehaving anyway!

Oh, I know, I think everyone should print it off and stick to it!!It is amazing the effect of others on younger people. I had two teenagers staying with me for the summer 2 great girls, they worked at a well known local yard, but known for the older, more "traditional" ways. One of their mothers commented on the behaviour of their daughter after not having such a great sj round in a one day event!! (total rub off from the yard). Kids really should have a good influence at that age, winning is great, but it's not everything!!!

Aww that made me sad too!!

'Remember before you hit me that I am powerful enough to hurt you, but choose not to'

I wish people would do a bit less hitting, smacking, using whip as a weapon, and even shouting does nothing for my nerves! I think the horses must just become desensitised!

I'm sure most of us do some of these things (I would have been bitten, trampled and bitten again if I didn't stand my ground with the toothy beggar) but I hate it when people take out their own frustration on their horse when it doesn't win or understand something in the school etc!
