Making a complaint about a rescue centre

Who should I make a complaint about a rescue centre to?

I don't want to go into details on an open forum as it probably libellous so will be deliberately vague.

Saw an advert in an equine magazine advertising horses for rehoming. One of the horses was previously loaned to one of my friends and they've completely misadvertised her.

This isn't fair on the horse and it isn't fair on the innocent person who could get killed by the horse's extreme behaviour.

If it was a dealer I'd be reporting them to trading standards but i'm not sure what to do as its a charity.
 
Try Trading Standards - if they can't help they may know who could. Or the Charities Commission? Not sure exactly what they do, but worth a try...
 
Could you speak to the welfare manager of the centre? When rescue centres rehome horses they have a check sheet with each one they go through and work on the horse. Maybe they have had a improvement with the horse?
 
BHS Welfare Officer -go through Stoneleigh and they contact the nearest one. Otherwise Charity Commission? Or International World Welfare
 
Its almost definitely the same horse. Same age, same markings, same height, same name. Kind of tempted to go and have a look in the flesh just to be sure.

Charity definitely knows the full story. My friend had her on loan from the charity and had to return her. They know why she was returned.

In my mind even if they have managed to rehabilitate the horse successfully she still shouldn't be advertised as anything but a horse that needs a experienced, confident home. If she's been difficult once then she could become that way again in a different environment.
