Iv put a field shelter up iv secured it with wooden stakes in the ground however the wind is so bad its weakened the structure any ideas on making it more secure..i dont own field so cant make anything permanent.

Living as we do on exposed moorland we have had to develop different ways to anchor wooden structures.

OH now always adds extra diagonal wooden braces to every thing and bolts frames to concrete flags on floor. We have also learnt to construct out of wooden planks that are thicker than normally used.

We put vents in the back of our fixed shelter so that the wind can go through the back and doesn't just storm in through the front. We did this after we lost the roof twice in bad winds many years ago and it's stayed on since.

I may have to resort to concreting the front posts in.iv added a extra pole on each side to strengthn it a bit.luckily the roof wasnt on but it ripped the trusses

We just took one horizontal plank off the back of ours. Its a moveable field shelter and isn't fixed down. So far it hasn't moved at all.
