Does anyone have any advise on making my yard move next month as stress free as possible? We are only moving a few miles away but still... Its a change in routine and she will out in a same sex herd for the first time in her life. I have every confidence in my new yard but I just wondered if there is anything I should do in the run and after the move?

Thanks in advance!

Keep your daily routine the same, change nothing. Once the initial introductions have taken place and pecking order sorted (hopefully) it will all fall into place. Good luck with the move

As smiffyimp says, try and keep your routine the same. Turn out same time, bring in same time. Feed the same. If you're only moving a short distance, hopefully your hacking routes will be the same? This will all help.

BUT, you will most likely get some bumps and bruises when your horse first gets turned out. Some on yours, some on others. Try not to get too worked up about that, it's just horses. The most stressful bit in my opinion is turning out in a new group. You will invariably get some owners who are just so precious about their animals that they blame everyone for every tiny little thing, try not to let them get to you if there are any minor injuries.

Good luck.
