making a yard user friendly

Hi, i thought i would start this so people can post hints and tips on how to make a yard as user freindly and professional as possible? and advice welcome?

Probably best to think about what type of yard you want and target that market appropriately.Do you want kids ponies or happy hackers or competition folk? What are you best able to provide. Kids and older happy hackers might be ok together but competition folk will want different things. Safety for all is paramount. Try not to have too many written rules just make sure everyone knows what is expected.It's not easy pleasing all the people all the time!

For me it is user friendly if it is horse safe. ie good fencing, safe ground/walkways, yard fenced off from turnout so no horses escaping off the yard. Good safe gates, kept closed, from yard to road.

After that it is nice stables, good parking for cars and horseboxes etc. Good lighting, electricity and water supplies. Nice storage.

If the rules are all safety based rules and apply equally to everyone then that helps.
