We have made haylage this year as the forecast was too awful to get our hay dried. Its now in the barn, it is big round bales.
How long does it take to 'cook'? As in to become haylage?
Thank you

Another question, we had one big bale that the wrapper missed. It is in the barn and I don't know what to do with it! Its dry - hay - on the outside and was probably only a day off being hay in the making anyway. Dare I feed it? The outside smells OK, not sweet particularly but not of anything at all.

I would roll it out on a sunny day and let it dry out like hay. Unrolled and turned.
