Hi there guys I was wondering if you can help me

My mare has been having the time of her life procreating for the last 2 years and she has just been dragged back into work over the last 3 weeks, she is really enjoying herself and I am over the moon the only thing is ...... I keep her on a very small and friendly yard in Stretton , Cheshire close to where I now live and work, and while I haven't been riding this has been fine but now I am missing having a buddy to pop out on a hack with and go out to farm rides with etc as we have a mix of retired neds, pretty show ponies and field ornaments !! I have always been on large livery yards before and any pals I do have from previous yards have either moved away or have lost touch - unlikely to join the hunt again now as she's nearing 19 (not that you would know it)

Does any one have any suggestions of how I can make some local friends ? I've even found myself looking at google maps for bridleways - it would be lovely to have someone to show me !

( I feel like a right billy no mates !:-( )

You could try looking on facebook for horse groups in Cheshire and then maybe find some people that way.
I'll be in the same position in a couple of months uprooting to Cambridge and needing to make new horsey contacts :(
Good Luck

I would join a local riding club - lots of clubs have social events as well as shows and competitions, and you could go along to meet people who would all be fairly local to you.
Our riding club always make an effort to pair/group up people who are on their own at our trail/pleasure rides.

I am going to join the riding club yes, there are 2 within 5 miles of our yard !

i hadn't thought of Facebook - I'm not naturally a shy person its just those 1st introductions I dread ! :-(
