OK now I realise this may come as a bit of an anti-climax, as you are all reading this wondering which miracle I have discovered

Anyway, by the time I've taken hay down to the field, broken the ice on the waterer, turned them out, mucked out, filled all the haynets, washed all the buckets, swept the yard, yada yada yada, pushing the barrow to the muckheap was just the final straw. Despite the fact mine are on cardboard/matting, and I get only one barrow for 2 horses; it always weighed a ton. Anyway yesterday my OH saw me pushing the barrow and said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world " Why haven't you blown up the tyre?"

Honestly - how stupid am I? The tyre had been getting gradually flatter and I never noticed! He blew it up for me, and this morning, the barrow practically pushed itself!

I was skipping my way to the muckheap, feeling like I'd a whole new lease of life

(I do realise I sound like I've been on the happy pills, it is a bit strange how much this cheered me up, so I thought I'd share )

The reverse happened to me, i always try to muck out 2 straw stables and only do 1 muck heap run with my barrow!! I pack it on and push it down the sides and a huge heap on top etc, my barrow was totally overloaded i walked out of the barn down the step and the tyre blew!! I nearly landed face first in the poo!!

lol bless did you also know your car will do better on fuel if you keep the tyre pressure right, you won't feel the bumps so much either

See strangely I did know that, I just never equated the principle to the barrow (and the less said about the car the better, given I need two new tyres, brake pads and disks). Almost as expensive as horses shoes
