I find myself using a variety of noises to talk to horses I meet, often clucking and kissing. I've just watched the Kelly Marks programme about Harry and hunting, and in it she used the kissing noise, saying he didn't like it and his reward for doing what she wanted was stopping the noise. It's the first time I've heard this; do horses not like kissing noises? A really silly question but when I talk to horses I'm generally on my own (passing fields etc) so can't really compare!
