How the hell do I make bright orange feathers white again?!
Our field has a large bog in it (about half the field!) and my little rat of a pony has been wallowing in it for weeks. He and his equally annoying friend spend hours everyday splashing about in it. He comes in every single day with his legs black to the elbows (and mud splattered all up his face too).
Last weekend he was dragged in to be scrubbed and cleaned for a show, and I discovered his feathers are orange. Properly, you've-been-tango-ed orange
Four scrubbings later with whitening shampoo and they're still orange
Any recommendations for getting them white again? Or at least less orange? He's MEANT to be going to the Highland show (to do youngstock traditional coloured, so he needs his feathers!) in three weeks time, so they need to be a better colour!
