'report' because it's really just a chance for me to show off some photos ;).

Our day didn't start too well.
- I overslept because I was up late working on my dissertation.
- Checking emails just before leaving the house showed a rather annoyed email off my supervisor as I'd not sent him the dissertation draft .
- Snow(!) on the way to the yard.
- Snow while we were at the yard hitching up.
- Evil demon pony in the stable next to M escaped and I had to catch it.
- Got to venue and couldn't park trailer so had to unhitch, unload horse, and park it by hand <embarrassing>.
- Horse was tied to the box when a rabbit hopped past so she freaked out and snapped her headcollar .
- Horse then decided everything was out to kill her, culminating with her jumping on my foot in my riding boots and breaking 2 toes.

Buuuuuut, once we got to the actual XC bit she was fab . Cracked her problems with water after about 5 minutes and she was jumping in, cantering through, and jumping out like a pro. Ditches are crossed off the scary list, as are big open oxers (tho that's more me than her, the chance of getting legs caught terrifies me) and steps. We probably didn't jump anything bigger than 60 or 70cm but it was meant to be a low-pressure outing to work on her water issues and get her jumping out of a forward stride. Next time we'll work on more complicated/bigger stuff.

She also loaded and travelled like a complete dude there and back so I'm happy :). Goes to show that a bit of patience and gently asking for forward works better than trying to force her to do things she's unsure of.

Anyway, photos:

Yikes, not the best start you're right. Did you jump with two broken toes?! The pics are fab and that course looks really nice. I think you forgot to tell your horse you were doing that height, from that first pic haha.

Love that first picture! Well done :)

Thank you! I'm considering having it printed and framed because it makes me laugh :).

Fabulous pics! I love the first one too, you're flying!!!!

Thanks :).

Where did you go

I'm not sure if you're near where I am but Ynysymond Stables in Glais. Great facilities and the ground was perfect.

Super super super :D Love the pics!

Thank you :D. (p.s. good news - there might be phd funding for me! <happy dance>)

Amazingly cute! Well done :)

She does have a cute concentration face <3. Shame we don't get it when doing flatwork :p.

Brilliant pics. The first one caused me to exclaim "FM" in a loud voice to myself at 3:30am :D

Hope your foot heals quickly. Ouch!

I can be heard swearing quite loudly on the video of the first one . She likes a flyer but that was excessive!

How're the ribs?

Excellent pics, love that 1st one - flying! :biggrin3:

It's a good Pegasus impression :p.

When she jumped on my foot I was about to get on so gritted my teeth and carried on. There's no way I was going through all the faff of getting there, paying, and tacking up to turn around and go home with no jumping! They didn't hurt too badly until it was time to take the boot off .

She normally jumps at the height she thinks we should be jumping anyway - I've got a photo somewhere of her sailing merrily over a pair of 1.55m wings when the jump was only 80cm :p.

Wow she looks fab! Great pics too :)

Thank you :).

The weather did pick up very nicely after the snow :).

I can highly recommend you get some tramadol for that foot if you can. My life has improved immeasurably today after the Dr gave me some!

Tramadol and I don't get on! I've got some codeine left over from the last time I had Shingles so have been taking that :p. Looks like my big toe nail will be falling off, blee.

Hope you're feeling better :).
