Making your horse "go"

Have you got any strange or different ways of making your horse go faster?

We discovered today that singing YMCA makes Blacky trot and if you do the actions too, she canters!

With Mae if you talk to her in the beat of the gait you want to do, she does it lol. However i messed up her schooling a little when i got her.

Lunged her for a while before i even rode her, when i now say easy she stops dead lol. Not nice when your having a nice canter!!

Going faster has never been a problem with Charlie. E.g. whilst tightening the girth, he did a halt to piaffe transitition, then piaffe to canter.

We did Novice 30 last Sunday and you do medium canter just before you turn up the centre line and halt at X. We left skid marks! There are a set of Trent 700 thrust reversers sitting just outside my office. They are powerful enough to stop an Airbus A330, so I might fit them to for the next time I do N30!

we used to shake a bottel of water on my friends clydesdale(sp) to make her go faster very funny to watch.

If you laugh when on my mare she speeds up or just put a dashing chestnut half way up the road and shes off lol

I use my reins in a sort of whip wop motion like western style on either side of his withers and that works well.
