Making your own stable toys

Any one got any ideas ?

I know people who have put holes in pop bottles and filled them with treats.

An old shoe lace tied up somewhere in stable with bits of apple, carrot ,turnip etc with holes through them attatched to lace

Yes - me.
New plastic petrol can, get handy/useful man to drill holes at opposing corners, fill with titbits/nut/whatever and throw into stable, or tie up using the handle.

my horse also has a football in a haynet in his stable, no idea if he uses it though - doubt it. He also has a space hopper in the field wich he will occasionaly pick up by the horn or pounce on x

Hm, space hooper I like. I used to have a youngster who would pick up his kangaroo bowl by the handle, and occasionally fling it over the wall into the next door stable to the surprise of whoever was in there.

Hiding carrots and feed in hay, bobbing apples in water buckets, chucking in a thin Willow, Birch, Ash or Chestnut branch for him to chew ...
