Malabsorbtion sysndrome

Hi everyone

Has anyone else had a horse who suffers with this problem, my mare is having a glucose test on monday to confirm this is what is wrong with her, so just wondered if anyone elses horse has this and what you do to help your horse.

We had a glucose test with my horse jase which he failed. He has been diagnosed with Protein Losing enteropathy which hes on steriods for, which is a similar type of thing I think. Have you had his results back yet?

got results back she had flat curve glucose test, so yes she also has protein losing ing her entropathy.
Had xrats on monday as she has also got a strange problem with her feet, so now vets are concerned about giving her steriods, so just a wait and see game now.
How is jase doing on the steriods, is his weight increasing

He has only been on them a week so no increase in weight just yet. He's got another week to go and then the vets coming out to re-assess and see where we go from there. I'm not really sure what the other options are if the steriods don't work.
