Today I took Ren to the Malthouse for the Baldons show, and I had the best time ever!!
I was very nervous
as I have not done anything for 2 years, and having a mad TB that took me into fences at 100mph really knocked my confidence.
I have had Renny now for one month and I loved jumping again!
we warmed up in the outdoor school and did a few fences, which I have to say was horrible the sand was just blowing everywhere could not see!
Then we walked the course for the Intermediate, all good, got on and went straight in..... We had a great clear and went through to the jump off.
I was first to go for the jump off and went clear again - and we got 4th...
We could not compete with all the little jumping pony's as Ren is 17.3!! and trying to turn corners like they do noooooooo!
So after getting some confidence I entered the open, walked the course looked all good was not fazed by anything, so on I got and did the course - went clear and got through to the Jump off.
There was 15 in the class and 7 got through to the Jump off - I really went for it this time, I knew he had back studs in so I just let him go LOL! and we got the fastest time and we were 1st! YEY!
So I got a nice big Red rosette with a trophy and prize money! We had lovely comments from the judges saying how nicely ridden it was, which again was a nice confident booster!
I felt like I had just won Badminton LOL!!!! There were more horses than ponies in this class, so I knew if I could go clear and cut some of the corners we would be in with winning! and we did!
My friend took her 4 year old that was only backed a few months ago, she did the 2ft9 and got 2 down which were the first two fences, after that she had springs in her feet!
So she decided to enter her in the next class, which was if you jumped clear, you went straight into the jump off, and she did! She got 3rd!
So all in all we had a great day - I am very pleased with my result and feel great.
Off to do Dressage and Showjumping next weekend
Photos are to follow they should be going on the website later today.
