My friend and I have decided to enter this in June of this year (decision made after my friend had consumed several bottles of wine and me being easily led into doing anything remotely horsey!)

Has anyone on here done it, thinking of doing it or know anyone that has? Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated!

A couple of weeks ago I was talking to a chap who mentioned that his wife had done it (she is an endurance rider). He told me that it was alot of road work and that it was hard coping with the cyclists and runners together.

How long ago this was, I've no idea so the route will probably be totally different. Anyway the best of luck!

I was under the impression that the route was unchanged from when it started 30 years ago and there was very little road work. Will have to look into this a little more. I'm waiting for my welcome pack so hopefully there'll be some info in there about the route.

yep, great fun on a very trustworthy horse that has been done eveything! Would def not do it on a youngster or anything less than 40 mile fit... Seriously hilly! You are an endurance rider? Pm me for more info if you like. Happy to add more.
