Is on Fairy Lane, Sale.

Backs onto Chorlton Water Park and the Trans Penine Way Also, apparently used to be a riding school.

Just making enquiries on behalf of my sister who is going to view it at the weekend.

Any info gratefully received.

Ta.

I went to a riding school on Fairy Lane about 22 years ago.

Most of the yards down there don't have much land and they're all a bit on top of one another, bearing in mind things like strangles.

The hacking is quite good though.

Gosh i remember a place that used to be a riding school,we had my first pony from there and we used to ride round the water park and around the motorway roundabout to take her back for a visit. (Mad i know, i would think someone was seriously stupid if i saw them doing that!) That was about 14 yrs ago. I livein Wales now so sorry can't help! You have reminded me of all the good memories i have of my first pony! Thanks.

God I went to the riding school there over 20 years ago also!! My friend used to go to that one so I went with her but I was Bankhall Lane in Hale. I kept my horse at Bankhall lane after it stopped being a riding shool. Does anyone remember Bankhall Lane???

I remember Bankhall Lane, had my first proper(!) riding lesson there in the 70s. We used to go the shows there and my first rosette, which I still have, is a purple clear round one from there. When you went did the big arena still flood and you had to ride round the huge puddle in the middle.

I used to go their too when I was a kid and went on hiolidays to my Nana's. My grandad used to get his maure from there too.

Sorry it's not much help just memories coming flooding back at the mention of the name

Hi,The riding school was called Cloverfied.
Pat Long owns it.Janet was the Instructor. It is no longer a riding school but a livery yard.
Pat still owns owns it.I suppose it is all right considering the location and tons of of road riding.
I wouldn,t expect big stables just basic.
It has a small indoor school and out door.
It is worth looking at.
There is a nicer place not too far further on Ashton on Mersey,

Ashton Hall Equestrian Centre.I would give that a try much better facilities www.ashtonhallequestriancentre.co.uk

Personally, I wouldn't bother with Ashton Hall. Topping fields full of ragwort and not collecting the cuttings is not a good thing yet people still turned out onto those fields. I could go on but I don't want to be done for slander lol.

There are plenty of yards in the area, cloverfield has shut down, it is now an antiques business but still owned by pat. There are only a couple of horses on there. There's two other yards, one next door to clover field and another a little further up the road. The one up the road doesn't have an arena, just a field you can use and on all the yards grazing is very limited. But then, the hacking is second to none.

About 10-15 mins away is 'North Cheshire' a livery and a small scale riding school, 'Dainewell' livery yard (poor fencing and a lot of ragwort that was again, topped) then there's 'Carrington' a livery and a riding school which has decent facilities is BHS approved, ABRS approved and a pony club centre but a long waiting list for a stable! All of them have good hacking as well. There's 'the hollys' that has reopened out over partington way... then there is also Woodcote and Dairy House which are a bit further afield and both have arenas too and are purely liveries...... there's manchester equestrian centre too... but I wouldn't go there either!

There are plenty of yards about in the area but some aren't so good. The majority are decent though.
