Mane and tail rake - advice

In the spring I tail raked my horses thick chunky mane (she's a cross cob). I was quite pleased with the results. However it now looks a bit of a state. Half of her mane lies on the left side and the other half sticks up like a loo brush.
Shall I attack the loo brush side or shall I let it grow out? I only tail raked the mane as it's impossible to pull as she has a complete hissy fit.
I'm taking her to her first in-hand show next sunday and I need to plait it!
Any advice much appreciated!

i'd re-rake the sticky-up bit and then it should be thin enough to plait nicely.

Thanks. I attacked the loo brush side this afternoon and it looks a bit better. I might plait it tomorrow to see what it looks like.

If you brush the mane onto the "wrong" side before raking the bog brush bristles will be hidden underneath when they regrow!
