anyone have any tips on getting a mane to grow quickly?

Mare has had full neck rugs on over winter and now has a patch in the middle which is non existent.

Also anyone have any tips on how I might plait her like this..just was hoping to do a few dressage tests etc and at min it looks terrible.

Hogging is not an option :)

I use supreme products mane and tail builder works well but smells awful!!

I also trim what wispy hair they have left with my solo comb or scissors to where it thickens which is usually around 3cms from the base - after a winter of combo rugs it takes around 3 months to get at least 2 inches :)

I get very envious of people who's horses always have full manes :( :)

thanks on way to google those thanks, she only has about 1cm of hair in the middle for about 6 inches if that makes sense so looks awful :)

I have the same problem!!!! Don't think there is a quick fix. Because we have had such a horrible winter, the neck rugs have done there worst on a lot of horses and ponies. I have seen a lot of horses and ponies plaited up at shows with the rubbed out bit missing, as long as the plaits are small I think you can get away with it, no lotions or potions will make it grow quick! summer coats are coming thru and hopefully you will have full mane back by june, keep the rest of mane short so it will catch up

thanks.. I was mainly worried about plaiting as not that great at it to start with ... going to be even worse with no midsection lol ... would it be better to take off the bottom bit aswell maybe and just plait the top half ??
