Saw a thread yesterday I am sure, asking who knew of horses with the plaits having been put in & anything coming of it?

I've searched but nothing.

Why am I asking?

My boy has had a plait put in. YO has informed police/horse-watch/neighbours/next door yard etc etc.

Obviously interested in people's experiences....

If I could upload the photo dirext from phone I would but I can't so I won't!

You can tell a lot from a plait... right down to who did it. Did you take a photo? There's plenty of experts on here who can tell you who did it and when the horse is going to be stolen.

We do need to see a photo though in order to help.

:D

Maybe it was stolen?! :p

Sorry, couldn't resist. Being serious though, I don't know if there have been many/any reported cases of a horse having a plait put in, then being stolen. As people have said before, why would you "mark" a horse with something obvious that could easily be found by the owner, go away and come back to steal it?

Is it a definite, neat plait, or a wind tangle? I'm guessing it's the horse in your photos? With a long mane he's probably got a very good chance of getting wind tangles.

Pretty sure I read another post here where the plait had been put in by a young girl visiting the horse.

Naughty tallyho! :D

OP it was probably the wind.
If not, then there is almost certainly a villain sitting at home pulling on his striped jumper and firing up the horsebox ready to speed to yours as we speak!

:) ;)

I have read hundreds of threads/posts & absolutely every one has been dismissive of it as a 'tag' or 'mark' so I am trying to remain calm!

I will try to upload from phone to photobucket to here.....

The police have told my YO that in over 20 years nothing has transpired from a plait but some bugger has been on our land that's for darn tooting.

Ok I should have known better than to ask...but in 6 years of having him it's never happened before & I wasn't panicking til a fellow livery saw it then the YO showed immediate concern.

Hence why I am at home just researching rather than camping out at the yard!

NB I am a hairdresser so am quite qualified in confirming a plait :)
