Mane shortening without pulling

Just use scissors. You can make the edge as blunt or soft as you life! Cut withers to ears though for a better finish. If you want a soft edge then cut up into the mane.

Some of this made me chuckle... "I dont like to wash the mane too much, I would only shampoo the mane once or twice a week"

That is too much! Once or twice a year is more my style lol

First time you could not take any length of at all but practise cutting into the mane to trim the edges to decide what sort of finish you like. Go very slowly and do a little at a time. If you are not going as short as you want to, there's plenty of scope to fix.

I don't go as neat as Sasanaskyex but a slightly more uneven look as if the mane hasn't been trimmed but happens to be short but it's all personal taste.
That’s a great idea actually! It’s so long I could practise several times before the final cut!
I’m pretty sure if I persevered I could pull but he really does hate it and if I can master this that would be great.
Not sure when the last time I shampooed his mane was ?
