My lad is part arab, part TB ..with possibly something else fine in there...I usually pull his mane for shows, and plait him up - he looks very smart. I leave his tail unpulled because its very thick and lovely, and plait it for shows.

I haven't pulled his mane for ages though, ans I noticed last night its getting fairly long and it suits him.

He is more 'araby' when excited/showing off at shows ...tail in the air, neck arched etc.....

So.....to pull the mane for plaiting, or let it grow....bearing in mind he's not full arab and doesn't go in arab classes, usually part-bred classes, veteran classes and ridden veteran/riding club horse....

Thoughts?

pulled, we have a palo arab/tb hers is long but it should be pulled really. I think he won't look right at shows in those classes otherwise.

We don't really do any showing and I will put an arab plait in for drsg (same for welsh when drsging)
