why does everyone call a school a menage?!

it's a MANEGE (with an accent on the E)!!!

I used to say menage - did A Level french and menage means housework, but also doesn't menagerie come from menage, which is a holding place for animals?

Manege is the correct but I sound like an idiot saying it, so I called it the arena or school now

its just a bastardisation....commonly accepted nowadays.. its fairly normal for words to evolve this way, and they have done throughout the history of the english language!
