Maneges - rubber surfaces

We have a rubber arena

It used to be rubber & sand, but gets topped up with rubber every few years and not sand, so its nearly all rubber. Its really nice to ride on and very comfy if you fall off

Both our menages have about 2 inches of sand underneath and then about an inch of rubber on top. Our jumping one is on a slight slope and can get a little deep if it isn't harrowed properly but our flat schooling menage is lovely (both have underneath watering systems)

Pics of jumping menage (please excuse me on B - that was taken 4 years ago!)

Thanks for the info - so your maneges have 2inch of silica? I was told it would need 4inch?

I look fatter in that pic and he looks very skinny (that was just after I had bought him!)

I'm sure it is only a couple. Have text YO so if he tells me differently I will let you know.

you will prob be recommended 4-5" sand under about 2" rubber. i would have thought 2" sand definately not enough. ??

See told you I got it wrong.

YO has text me - started with 6 inches of sand and 2 inches of rubber but over time sand compresses to 4 inches.
