Manes ...

How long do manes take to grow? My pony was higged but I'm now growing it back - seems to be taking ages! Its about 3 inches long and he looks like a toilet brush!!

Lack of mane does make riding bareback a tad trickier though - and what is summer without lots of bareback riding?

I know people have suggested putting pig oil through manes and tails to promote growth. I've been using aloe vera gel on the top of Harry's tail as he's been rubbing it out and I'm surprised how quickly the hair has grown back over two weeks. There was a small patch he'd rubbed out completely, but can hardly notice it now!

But it made me chuckle so worth it. Plus, cannot wait til next year when I can ride my boy, bare back may well be in order

It took my horse about 6 months from being freshly hogged to having a mane.

No idea, sorry, but when Little Lad rubbed parts of his mane away, I found that Cornucrescine (sp!) worked well - though stinks and is messy!
