Manners during Rug changing - Advice please

TBH i change and put my horses rug on when he is eating his tea he is not bothered in the slightest its not a regular thing but i do do it sometimes! He is very good tho no faces and is just generally well behaved! Id def try the longer leap rope first before tying her up! Or have both and tye her up when she is not listening to your commands!
 
what about a rope across the entrence to the shelter?

or tie her up, do her rugs and then let her eat?


ps i wish i could do rugs when my mares eating!! i'd end up in a different county or in the roof beams!!
