Just want to moan really. Went out on Boxing Day with a hireling and whilst we were waiting around down a narrow track the horse in front gave my horse a great kick in the chest.
Young woman on board gave her horse a good wallop but never enquired as to whether my horse was OK.
Luckily he was an absolute treasure and it did not seem to do him any immediate harm but i was sorry to have to relate it when I handed him back later.
This was not a child, just an ignorant young woman.

Depressing isn't it.

There was another thread earlier suggesting that the Boxing Day/New Year's Day really weren't much fun. Certainly there's a load of people out that one doesn't see all that often and the conventions about green and red ribbons are frequently ignored

it really peeves me off too,the amount of times my old mare nearly got kicked whilst hunting is too many to mention, luckily she was a quick pony and was ready for it as she was experienced in the field but it still used to s*it the life out of me when it happened, bit scary when you have a 17hh hunter hoof coming at you at the age of 11!

Unfortunatly it happens quiet alot, part and parcel of horse riding and hunting!! It happened to me just over 5 years ago.My leg took the blow and has left me with permenant nerve and muscle damage, and my leg is now in a plastic splint all of the time.It doesnt stop me riding to hounds.
