It's been a while but finaly managed to bring Dotty and Manny back home from stud today.

Can't believe how much he's grown and he's only just 4 months old! I love my Irish Draught crosses, In hand hunter anyone?! :D It's very muggy today so no action shots but to give you the general idea.

Also, meet Jesus, my new happy hacker (yes, he came over from Ireland with that name! :D). He's an ex hunt horse looking for a quieter life and is an absolute treasure with a sense of humour; never known a horse as nosey as him! Once the flies have gone the hair will come off although I won't hog him again, I need something to hang on to when I clambour aboard! Hope we're going to have some fun together; OH has already christened us the two wide loads!

You can have a whole lot of fun riding Jesus!
I wonder what he did to warrant the name!!???:D:D:D Lovely sort, hope you enjoy your time together.

Wow your horses are gorgeous!

Love the 'little' foaly!

And Jesus is just lush!! Maybe he was nicknamed that in ireland, swearing to diety as he takes on hedges 'Oh s*** JESUS CHRIST!' :p hehe! He looks so sweet though, how tall is he?!

Thanks both.

I have the feeling that was exactly how he got his name as he's always been a cracking jumper who knows his job.
At least I'll have a legitimate excuse to shout his name if he tanks off with me, just hope it's not outside a church - even though our Vicar rides himself!!

He's 16.1 although he doesn't look it and he actually rides bigger than he looks unless that's just because my legs only come halfway up his fat sides until he loses some weight!

All looking lovely!!

I invested in a couple of lovely soft leather breastplates from Evison Equine as mine don't have much mane - even less when plaited to go to parties!!!

Thanks H.

Yes, a breastplate is always a number one priority for me too, can't abide to ride without one even if I don't need a martingale; trouble is he's so round and I'm so heavy that I have to strangle him for the saddle not to shift; lucky I have a great mounting block I can just step onto him from.

LOL :) :) :)

I'm nearly wetting meself laffing!!

Sounds like you're gonna have a lot of fun with your "Jesus" guy. You could go to one of those Gospel Crusades, beat your breast, and run to the front shouting "Hallelujah I've found Jesus" - and then pull out a piccie of your (gorgeous) horse!!

OMG. Hilarious. You'll just have to do it!

Thanks H.

When Holz is fat (!!!) I ride in a 5 point breastplate and a studgirth - seems to keep everything in the right place, despite the lack of wither, and abundence of belly...

My downfall is remembering the damned thing is there to grab hold of in moments of need....!

Yes, that's right. I don't think you'll be disappointed, I love both of mine, they both move very well too. I think this one is going to be very nice indeed and he has a great unflappable temperament even already; took him to a SHBGB grading and he didn't turn a hair even when Dots was walked away from him. This is the yearling filly out of a 3/4 TB by Maurice.
