Manor Farm?

What's it like? Am thinking of broadening my horizens and going jumping there (bloody long way for me to go). How big's the indoor? And do I deduce correctly that it's outdoor warm-up? Many thanks.

Are you talking Manor Farm, Cambridge way? Lovely place very friendly. The indoor is large with a very nice surface, I have only done dressage there however so can't tell you what it is like to jump on and the warm up is outside. It is quite a way for me too but I was very impressed when I went there. The canteen does yummy food too!

Finn McCoul and I went up in convoy it was a very easy drive and not far from the A14. I would definitely go back again - was worth the extra journey imo. Mind you anything is worth it if it means avoiding the M25 in rush hour!

Yes, I can back up everything Jo has said.

At a guess I'd say the indoor is about 65 x 25 as it's just a bit bigger than a long arena.

Oooh, sounds fantastic, as long as it isn't peeing it down I suppose! Now, whilst you dressage bods are here, could you possibley tell me vaguely what would be involved in Novice 32?! I'm planning a busy fortnight for Betsy! If it's anything too complicated we'll just stick to prelim!

I agree, Manor Farm was lovely. We stayed over and Jo cooked me supper. Oh, and as usual i drank far too much wine

20m circle at C (changing rein over middle) then at A
Up centre line, trans to walk FWLR on long diagonal
Trans to canter on 20m circle
Medium canter up long side
20m circle canter with GR over X
Med trot on long diagonal and then same canter and trot malarkey on other rein.

Not too bad

PS was only 1 1/2 from J28 M25 so not too bad a journey

Oh right, so no going backwards or simple changes? We might be able to manage that by Monday! Her trot rhythm's a bit quick, but she's a very pleasant ride and actually has quite a bit of cadence to her paces when she's working. It takes me about 30 mins to get to J28 unless the motorway is absolutely empty (and not completely clogged)

Seems a VERY long way to go for a BN and Disco...

Oh crap, you're right - didn't read it properly! Horses are J18 for going north, J17 for south....

Probably still crap though as you'd have to get round to M11 to get to A14. Prob about 30-40mins round M25 to get to J27 for M11

Lol! I spend most of my life driving around the South and East so am an ideal guide to getting to places!!

I haven't been but a friend goes there a lot for dressage and she says its a lovey venue.

it has a nice arena but last time i went there and won 2 classes they gave me a rossette for one class but not the other (not really bothered but it would have been nice to be offered it) also the didnt pay all my prize money and they still owe me £30, i keep being told its in the post
