Right I am sorted with a job in mansfield but will be living in Nottingham, this is all from July/August but planning in advance in case I need to put name on waiting list for a good livery yard!
So horse needs a place to live, preferably somewhere along the A60ish on my commute any advice on good and bad yards gratefully received. My hours will be long so I need at least part livery- essential things include
-individual turnout (doesn't have to be 24/7 or good quality grass- lami size is perfect!)
-school with decent surface
-must be able to access horse till 8/9pm
-good hacking
Thank you for your help

Presumably it's on the estate - went on a fun ride there years ago and it's lush! Should be great hacking, lucky you if you can get in there!

Yeah its on the estate. I would expect a waiting list but I have known nicer places to have stables free, especially at the moment!

St Clements is a riding school so if you don’t like the idea of being at a riding school it would be a no go. I am also not sure what the hacking is like, they always seem to be hacking on the road when I am there!

Thank you for your help, including those that PM'd me. Newstead abbey sounds a good option and very convenient, I will definately be looking in to those yards. Buckleap looks nice too but bit worried about hacking with its very close proximity to the A60 although they do mention their own tracks!

Buckleap do (or did) have an agreement with the local farmer, who, for a yearly sum, lets you ride out the back of the yard over his land.

Last time I looked round there though the (small) outdoor school surface wasn't the best, quite deep and not maintained, but that was about 3 years ago.
