Many envy! tips please!

Watching Olympia i soon got 'mane envy' watching the SJ'ers going round with their amazing manes. glossy, all pulled perfectly to the same length, all the same thickness and super straight!!
woe is my ponies mane that is coarse and dry, thick and bushy behind her ears and thin and wispy at her withers

She is stabled at the moment so i cant use mud as an excuse!
so some tips please for a lucious mane!!

My horses mane is exactly the same! I tried to pull my mares mane like theirs and it went awful! My mum was like do they straighten their manes? Would they do that?

Most of them cut the manes to get them looking like that

Ponio's mane can get a bit dry - I washed it then used some hot oil for human hair to give it a boost then once a week I combed some baby oil through it. It really worked and she has a lush mane now - because she's a show pony I've let it grow out and it's lovely, thick and glossy :

A good feed with high oil content will help your horses mane, tail and coat. If you dont want to do that wash it and then put leave in conditioner (human one) all the way up and thickly in the dry patches leave on for like 20 mins for a real good soaking then wash it off. also use a solo comb bit on the thin bits and the pull the thicker bits which will even out the thickness of the mane. But also dont worry because the TV lies and most horses have thick manes on the top of the neck getting thinner towards the wither and some even loose that bit in the winter due to rugs rubbing.

I was always told they cut most of it. Then just pull like 1/2 inch off at the end to make it look better. Then many straighten them

I don't like showjumper manes.... looks so fake. I'm all for tidy pulled manes but 2in of flat straightness looks weird.

From what I know they cut the mane to get it all one length, then pull any extra thick bits, then dampen the mane and lay a bath towel over the neck to flatten it down.

Personally I prefer plaits!

I have to say i don't like the manes cut how they do it, think they look ok from a distance and when the horse has it's neck held nicely arched but, up close they're not so good! Think they need a good pulling alot of them. Fair enough trim the ends to make them look even but i think a few get a little over excited with their scissors!
