Many Tears Animal Rescue

I've found the relevant page on the MT Facebook offering, and have posted the following;

**'I wonder if those of you at Many Tears have any sense of shame? That poor Hound bitch, whilst you and that disgraceful lot at Fitzgeralds are milking this for every penny that you can, either in fiscal form or by advertising, or both, that wretched creature suffers.

Have you no sense of shame?'**

I posted it at 11:30, I wonder how long it will last!! :D

Alec.

That hip is beyond 'Dislocated'. The damage is extensive, and with a dog which clearly isn't young, this will call for major surgery.

Alec.

Different dog Alec.

And yes. Hopefully the hound bitch is no longer with us - although to criticise Fitzpatricks is a little unfair I feel.

FROM FITZPATRICK REFERRALS
It is with profound sadness that we have allowed our lovely friend “Kayak” to pass away peacefully today. All of the nurses and clinicians involved are deeply sad as they had grown to know and love her in these past few days. We had all done our very best to support her both emotionally and physically over these difficult days, but unfortunately her ordeal had resulted i... See More

So the animal was 'Allowed to pass away peacefully', was she? I wonder what that means. Does it mean, as it sounds, as if she went of her own volition (in other words the poor bitch just 'gave-up'), or did they finally accept the bitter truth, in that they'd realised all that they could by way of publicity and income, and the last few bob was to be earned by touching the hearts of humans?

As to the pics which you initially posted being of a different dog, then why were they on the post concerning the bitch Hound? Why was it that the dog in question died from a dislocated hip?

It isn't you, Amymay and Ester that I disbelieve, it's those from the 'rescue' and the vets, who would claim to care.

Alec.

Its a long old journey from Carmarthan to Sussex and begs the question did they see a vet elsewhere who said they couldnt help, as I understand it MTs have their own vets on site so why was this poor dog taken the other end of the country?

Im glad she is out of her misery and she would have been in a lot of pain, I don't know how these people sleep at night.

I'm confused Alec.

There is a television program about Fitzpatrick's called 'Supervet'

Last week there was a malamute/similar with a dislocated hip that needed replacing, the dog was uninsured and the owners were away on holiday and were initially keen to put the dog down but were persuaded to do an expensive operation instead.

The case has nothing to do with Kayak other than having been at the same veterinary practice, I don't think there are any pics posted?

RIP Kayak, sorry it took a few days longer than it perhaps should have done. I read that she was PTS not just left to die, that would be pretty rare in a veterinary hospital.

The dog with the dislocated hip was the Northern Inuit that CT referred to Alec, nothing to do with the foxhound. Thank heavens the poor hound has been pts (which is what I hope they mean by allowed to pass peacefully). Having been sceptical about Fitzpatrick after the first tv series I had revised my opinion slightly after the latest series, however if he really was prepare to attempt surgery on this hound then perhaps my original thoughts were right. To give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they were being pushed to operate by Many Tears and used the time without social media updates to persuade MT to do the right thing.

I'm with you (for once! :)).

We can persuade a human that we're doing our best for them, but animals, were they able, would ask the question 'What are you doing to me, and why?'.

Alec.

Makes me seethe with impotent rage when stupidity and over-inflated ego collide. This seems to have been the case for the poor hound, Kayak, now thankfully pts.
Dogs in wheelchairs - cats attached to metal prostheses? Just because it CAN be done, does not mean it SHOULD be. Humans have power over the welfare of the animals they keep. With power comes responsibility for their welfare and happiness. I don't see any vestige of either for Kayak, or animals featured in Supervet. This is my opinion, anyway. Feel perfectly free to disagree.
