I have a rising 13 mare by him, unfortunately retired at 8 due to tendon and suspensory problems......
She had a cracking jump but as quirky as hell, very self opinionated, dominant and sometimes quite bolshy :
What are you doing with yours and whats the rest of the breeding, sorry being nosey as have never known of another one with similar breeding.......pm me if you prefer
Hi, nice to hear of someone who has a horse by him as I have never seen one advertised for sale or anything, and I believe at one time he was a very popular stallion choice!
My boy is a 17.1 chestnut gelding, his dam was called Immaculada(tb, spelt something like that!!) He was bred in Wisbech and was sold when he was too big as a five year old. From what I can gather he did alot of BSJA(fab jump) but scares the hell out of me jumping!! He doesn't rush or anything, he knows his job, just throws a huge jump in now and then! So decided to reschool for dressage, he is going really well. He hasn't got alot of confidence in himself, but as long as you ride him positively he is usually fine. What did you do with your horse till the injury and how is she bred, is she local to Wisbech?
Hi, likewise I've never seen too many of his offspring advertised, but I bought my girl from the woman that owned him originally, (she had my girl back in to sell for a client)
My girls' dam is Lady Mae (Granby Diplomat/Miss Chipz and is registered Part Bred Arab although only 12.50 %
I hadnt done an awful lot with her prior to her injuries, but she was ready to go and start her jumping career, she had a hell of a jump and was quick with it, right little pocket rocket
she is only 15.2!!
We're not far from you , in between Stamford and Bourne...........
Maple Drambuie was at Ely when he was at stud I believe
Crikey you are close, i'm just north of Bourne. How strang to find horses by same stallion within miles of each other!! Real shame about your mare. Have you another to ride?
We do have amazing hacking round the estate. Only have 1 under saddle at the mo and she just had her first trot on the lunge so not quite ready to go exploring on her yet.
Nice to know you are both so close though, I hardly know anyone in the area
Hacking round here is not great but we have a couple of rides and as I only get to hack at weekends its not a problem!! Have got a school tho so spend most of the week in there, bit boring but keeps him fit!! I do dressage now, but want to jump (only little) so have just started putting out really small ones in school! He did bsja but I didn;t!! What do you breed your youngsters for? What are your plans for the just backed youngster?
you'll both have to come over and visit.
We've still got two colts from this year's crop, weaning time this week bless 'em.
Also got two yearlings, one of which I hope is going to shape up into a stallion prospect, 2 2yos, and the 3yo I am just backing. Hopefully she will show a little next season but the main aim is dressage. I know she jumps so might have to do a little of that too.
Most of ours are bred for dressage but I work for a showing breeder so I end up showing my own a bit too.
