I have a TB mare (chestnut - oh no!) have had her about 10 weeks or so now, my previous horse was a gelding so I have no personal experience of mares at all! She seems to be settled in her new home & is happy with her 'boyfriend' but today she didn't want me anywhere near her back end! Am I right in thinking this is normal type of behaviour for some when they are coming into season? The ears were back, she had a right grumpy face on so I checked her over, gave her her mints & kissed her & left her to it! Sometimes she is so sweet as everyone who knows her history says she is but I'm assuming shes just suffering a bit of PMT!
