Mare full wee in season

My mare is coming to the end of a very noticeable season. She is a flirty type and will squirt at any other horse (mare or gelding) when in season but this time round I’ve noticed her having what seems like full wees rather than dribbles when she passes the geldings or even the gateway to their field which is on a road. I walked her past in hand and she had a big wee both ways within about 20 mins of each other. She normally won’t wee on a hard surface but I’ve been having to hose the yard down for a few days. It’s coming to an end so I’m sure it is season related rather than something like a urine infection.

Has anyone else experienced a mare doing this?

Thanks Shortstuff99. That’s reassuring. I’ve had her for a few years and this is the first time I’ve seen her do it but then she has recently moved so there has been changes to her environment and field mates

UTI in horses are pretty rare, and mares do often do full wees in season so i wouldnt worry particularly if its stopping as her season ends.

I’m a little more aware as she’s really affected by her seasons and had a period at the end of 2022 when her seasons were erratic. They got closer and closer together and it was like one awful long season until she finally stopped in the Jan which seemed to reset things when she started up again in the spring. She was checked over by our vet at the time and no issues noted but I suspect it’s still on my mind along with her now being quite playful with the geldings. Little rears, boxing, chasing sort of things you often see the boys do more than the mares. I am probably overthinking it, it’s just a change but then she has moved recently so may just be that 🤷‍♀️
