Mare goes crazy when gelding not in his stable

I have a 14.2 mare she can go in and out of her stable with no problems leaving the gelding in the stable next to her.
But if the geilding is taken out while she's in her stable she will throw her head all over the place, trots round the stable calls the lot.

Does anyone have any advice how to control this as we can't be at stables all the time when the other geilding is going out. worried she will hurt herself. m

Teach her that he does come back eventually, which she won't learn while she is panicking. Treat it like weaning a foal - give her a feed, take him away for a few inutes then back before she has finished her feed or started panicking. Gradually build up the time she can tolerate him being gone, bit by bit and try not to let her get to panic stage before he returns. The time will get longer and longer until she is happy to wait for him - at the moment for all she knows he might be gone for good. It will take some time but is the only certain way I know, unless you can get her another companion for while he is gone.

she can see another 4 geldings and 1 mare shes just so attached to him i will try that just was getting alittle worried because she scrapped her head on a beam which now as been lagged tossing her head around. Thankyou

TBH it's something she should just get used to so bite the bullet and take the gelding out away from her as much as you can. Make sure she has nothing to hang herself up on in the stable, shut the top door if necessary and just get on with it; she'll learn eventually but the more you pander to her, she won't. Time for her to grow up no matter how old she is.

You could take the risk of making the problem worse by increasing her stress. Or, just about every behaviourist seems to advocate the gradual separation method suggested by JillA.
