I guess I can probably hazard a guess at the cause being spring grass, and coming into season (although no other sign of this) plus the fact I have had her on D&H Build up, corn oil and speedibeet since I bought her 8 weeks ago to put some fat on her bones but my lovely laid back mare is literally burning her fat off her by just pacing around her field, hardly touching any of the lush spring grass, not settling, chasing the chickens and the shetlands, jumping at every little rustle. Please please tell me that other people are feeling the effects of spring and mares!! I have put her in the lami field tonight with the other 2 to see if that calms her down but I can see she is still just wandering around, like she has ants in her pants (there arent, I have checked!!!). Jeez - I have a shetland and a welshie whose lives are ruled by ensuring as much food passes through their pearlies as quickly as possible and a TB who couldnt care less!!!!
Other stats are 12yr old TBx, out 24/7 with 2 others for company although they are separated by electric fencing. Teeth/ back all checked. I only ride once / twice a week and was planning to ride tomorrow but I darent. She has increasingly been getting more and more sharp out hacking. Do you think its the D&H ? I thought it was meant to be non heating?

You need to get her off the oil and buildup! I'e been recommended Alfa beet and Alfa A for my boy as he's a bit of a nut nut with too much oil in his diet....

Even the speedibeat believe it or not can buzz them up. It did mine who I was advised may have a sugar intolerance - even tho it is very low in sugar.
