in the past 4 days my mare has been playing up alot, head tossing and just genrally throwing tantrums. its only been happening when on her own in the school or hacking alone. when shes with another horse or following a person she is absaloutly fine, its suddenly come on does anyone know why she coould be doing this and what could be done to help her?

I would try to rule out pain first

My boy started playing up and discovered he was lame behind. He started with small signs. Tossing his head. Planting. Not standing for me to get on. Then eventually started rearing vertical

Usually when a horse's behaviour changes, it is as a reaction to something. Is there anything in the management that has changed recently - say within the last few weeks if you have changed feed, or more recently, if the routine has changed? If you can think of nothing that has changed, then you should investigate a pain response. Easiest things to check are tack and rugs, then back/teeth/lameness. If you can't spot anything yourself ask the vet to check.
Often when horses are on their own, they are more alert and so react more quickly to pain that they would push through in company.

Yes she has moved yards but it was next door so i led her to it, but she can see her old friends from her new field so we were thinking it could be that, as she seems to spend alot if time by the fence line looking over to them. I dont think shes in pain as she is quite balanced and no lameness what so ever. I did change her feed, but shes only been on it 3 days two weeks ago then i changed her back to the origional, which i decided would be more suitable for her workload.

My mare is showing signs of coiming into season, generally a bit more edgy, flashing at the boys etc. Could yours be in first season, does make some skittty?

Ok thankyou, iv had such a set back recently so i had to move yards because my gelding got beat up severly by a womans horse there, so he is out of action for a while. Then my mare whos normally quite chilled has suddenly started playing up :( they were both going so well until my boy got beat up and we had to leave

This is what my mum suggested as shes surrounded by male horses and has been whining more, and its come on so suddenly. I thought it would be a little early to start coming into season tho? Iv not owned her a full year so i dont no what her cycle is

When I first moved my mare she came steaming into season in winter so I wou.dnt rule it out

Ok thankyou:), ill keep an eye out for this. It would be very strangley timed for her to be in pain, as soon as we have moved yard
