mare in foal

i'd like to put my 15year old mare in to foal, i have found a stallion that i like, but whats the next step? how much will it cost? and basically WHAT DO I DO? this is the first foal that she will have had and any tips/ advice would be VERY much aperciated! thanks

For starters ensure you have sufficient funds for the journey. Speak to experienced repro vets and look at their websites to get prices etc. E.g. Twemlows, Tower Equine, RVC

Visit any local stud farms, go along to their open days to understand their services. Contact the National Foaling Bank. If you are near Addington this weekend go to the Stallion Parade there. In short, the more informed you are the better the experience.

Isn't 15 a bit old to be put into foal ??
