Hi!
I am having a horse scoped next week - (sweetest kindest horse on the ground yet “crazy” and very tense and just hard work to ride) have looked in everything else (teeth back lameness etc) this is last thing! But showing obvious signs this may be the thing!(have already had a telephone chat with vet) She is in season now and very angry and more tense than before (and she was quiet tense)
Can a mares seasons affect then worse if having uclers? Or could ulcers flare up/hurt more when coming in season?
I know this are questions for my vet next week and I’m not looking for advice, I was just wondering if anyone else had anything similar with a mare?
Thank you!

Before my mare was scoped and diagnosed with ulcers she was awful when in season, so much so I had her ovaries scanned. So in my experience yes, they do hurt more when they have ulcers.

since treating and clearing the ulcers, the only way I can tell my mare is in season now (apart from the squirting at boys) is that she is more affectionate
