Is this something I should worry about or fairly common.
My 18yr old rescued standard shetland mare Molly is a raving sex maniac when in season. She's just come into season again (though very late in the year I thought) and has started calling for one of the 2 grey Section A MARES the other side of the fence to her field. Molly goes demented, calling and calling for the other mare and running up and down the fence line. She's out with her long term shetland mare friend and her little herd of 3 miniature shetland geldings (2yrs, 2yrs and 3yrs old) and nothing has changed in the last few months so I don't know what this is all about. Could it be a hormone problem? She fancies the big geldings on the yard something rotten but has never called in the 2 yrs I've had her and certainly not for another mare!
