I've owned my mare for 4 and a half years. Before we bought her we believe she had a foal in 2005. Last march her behaviour changed dramatically and she was referred to the vet hospital with a tumour on her ovary. She had them both removed and is thankfully back to full health. One thing that worries me is that the whole time we have owned her, she has produced a watery white liquid. Her teets are always full and she becomes a little uncomfortable at times, where we then have to expel some of the liquid before she will settle. Yard owner is just as confused as we are. Surely no hormones should be sent to her reproductive system? ... she doesnt have any ovaries! Could this be a psycological issue with my horse? she loves foals, youngsters and any animal of a young age. She is extremely maternal. Could this be the problem?
Thinking of phoning the vet hospital, but just wondered if anyone here could provide any information first.
Willing to answer any questions you may have :)

well with dogs i wanted mine spayed but she was having a phantom so had a little bit of milk they said they could do it but would always have that little bit of milk so we decided to dry her up and then do it so if she had that there before ovaries were removed due to cysts there is nothing there to tell milk glands to stop producing just a suggestion but by taking some liquid off you might be stimulating her to make more and you dont want mastitis i would have a chat with vet you can get tablets that dry them up
