My OH went to see to Amber this morning and she had not eaten much of her dinner or haylage. She'd been toilet, but her bed was not as messy as normal (she likes to play hide the poo and dig up the wee!). She was quieter than normal too.

Last night she was fine, and was tucking into her dinner when I left, although she had left some haylage from during the day.

Am I being over worried or should I get the vet out?

Thank you for reading

Is she in season? On new grazing? Maybe take her temperature, that's never a bad place to start. I probably wouldn't get the vet unless the symptoms persist for longer or get more noticeable. Any other symptoms - cough, nasal discharge?

I would take the above advice, one of mine was similiar this morning when i got there but we had colic. I however am usually of the opinion if you are not sure and worried get the vet, its always better to know.

Thank you for the replies.

I think she is due in season around now actually. She is not coughing or has any nasal discharge.

I will check her temperature when I go up later after work (My OH was not very sure about attempting it by himself this morning).

Yes she is in 24/7 (only been for a few days due to repairing her fence). Normally she gets quite stressy staying in though.

I started her on Stroppy Mare about 3 weeks ago, so maybe that has chilled her out, but its unlike her to leave her feed.
