My mare is being re-homed in a month. I'm really worried for her as the only time she has ever had Lami was when she moved to me (literally the day after she came to me) one of the factors was the move. She has never had it again and lives out 24/7 and has no specific treatment (she only has top chop light, top spec all in one supplement in summer with speedibeet added in winter) so I'm careful with food and weight but not with grass, frosty mornings etc as it has been years. She was very overweight when I bought her so the attack when she moved may have been the trigger but her weight a huge factor. She has never been fat again. (13.1hh and 300kg)
I've moved yards and then to my own place during the time I've had her with no problems.
I'm still really worried the move to new home with new horses friends and new owner puts her at risk (she's very person attached). Is there anything I can add to her feed now to help? The top spec all in one is great but should I load her with some magnesium as well for this month or anything else? I want to keep her risk to a minimum. It's too far for me to keep going to see her for a week to help the change.
Thank you
