Mare needs a name

She doesn't have one.. She is not registered believe it or not.
She came to me with the name blue but the lady who had her had renamed her blue and I don't know what she was originally called but she doesn't respond to blue and it's unoriginal and I know several other horses named blue..

Oh Gosh, she is beautiful!!

Haha, bad with names can you tell? :D

Thank you :) I just got her last week so we are still getting to know each other.
I see her twice a day when I go feed her but its been so cold. I live in northern Alberta Canada...we still have massive amounts of snow!
But I will be going out for the afternoon with her tomorrow..I am going to try out a few names see if any suit her..it is like naming a child! Actually I think I had an easier time picking out baby names.

If she's not registered how do you know she's pure? Did the vendor give you a reason as to why she wasn't registered, who would breed a QH in that colour and nor reg it?

To be honest I'm more interested in a good horse than worrying about if she is pure.. I am going to look into registering her I've been in touch with her original owner regarding that matter. She is a great minded willing worker she's healthy and she's a good all around horse.. I won't hold it against her if I do find out she's not pure QH.. :) but for now I'll just concern myself with finding her a name.

Please see my album for pictures.
I just bought a new mare 16hh 8 year old quarter horse
Dapple grey
Trying to find a name that suits her.
She is a sweet heart very friendly and curious but has a spicey side too :) I guess most mares are that way...
Looking for name suggestions.
Thank you.
Sarah

We had a similar dilemma a few years ago, and the horse went by the name of Bay Boy.....(we were certainly challenged on the name game then) The Grey mare, GM is not a bad label.....In the past in naming horses / ponies I have used the Baby book of names / the Collins book of Wild Flower names and a Bird book - Plover, is quite a good name for a grey - Grey Lag, Wood Pigeon (ala Flambards) Gull / Sea Gull / Dove
On wild flowers - Stitchwort / Campion, wind flower, Cuckoo Spit et al

She looks a lovely mare and still very dappled for her age.

What about

Saffron
Silver Linig
Grey Cloud
All Spice
San Diago
Miss Grey
Blue Lady

Brain a little tired after a full week at work :D

i like the name Lyric or Lacey. i also like wishful thinking or wish for short.
she is absolutely gorgeous though, especially in the headshot
