Are your mares still having seasons? Mine is! This very mild weather that we are currently experiencing seems to be confusing the whole of nature at the moment.

I was lunging her this afternoon and every time she went past the gelding who was standing by the fence she would wink, squeal and kick out. I look forward to having an easy going mare during the winter but she seems as confused with this warmth as we are at the moment. She is not really too much of a problem generally with her seasons but just lacks concentration and can become ' stressed' if her field mates are out of sight. She is still exhibiting all this behaviour. Fortunately she is not too messy, if you get my drift but can poo and wee for England.

I am not minding this mild weather as if and when winter does appear, hopefully it will be a short burst, However I do wish the weather would make up its mind. My poor mare is as confused as the roses and poppy's in my garden!

I'm pretty sure that mine was in season last week. She's normally fine in season, but I'm guessing that this is her last of the year as she was a nightmare!

I'm so pleased my mare is 'discreet' when she's in season - it's more a case of 'is she/isn't she?'. Last week I thought she might be, so based on what you lot are saying - she was!!

My mares are quite discreet so I haven't really noticed, but my friend's little mini shetland was most definitely in season last week.

mine too is really "discreet" the only time I notice is when I meet up with my friends gelding who she obviously has a massive crush on (big 17hh stunning warmblood) and she goes a little tarty with him not too bad though and still gets on with her job competing so its okay :) she grazes out with 2 of my boys and never shows a blind bit of interest in them, I noticed the evening she came back after being with my friends WB one of the TBs was rather interested in her but was quickly put back into line! shes the field's alpha. Im hoping to breed from her in the future so have said to friend I will be nicking her laddy for a few days so I dont have to pay the vet to get her into season :D! No idea if shes in season atm tbh!
