Hi - I’m just looking for anyone who has had a mare with ulcers that they thought might be related to hormones/ seasons?
My mare is fairly new to me. Briefly, she came into season twice in November and then a day or so after the second season came very strongly into season again- that was early this month - I’m now thinking that she might be in season again - change in behaviour towards me and “winking” when I’m cleaning under her tail ( I’m guessing that s a sign she’s in season?) Im trying to keep a record of her seasons, if that’s what they are, to discuss with vet as she has glandular inflammation which is proving difficult to heal. We are looking at possibly changing her treatment, but I’ m interested to find the cause and wondering if she is unusually hormonal which might be contributing to the problem.
