My mare has been itching and was wondering people's suggestions on ideas to make the mane/forelock and coat to grow back? Any ideas and/or suggestions appreciated. Thank you :)

Have you sorted the cause of the itching, could be lice or a fungal infection. For lice you'll need to buy the appropriate louse powder, if fungal then bath horse with Nizoral shampoo, paying particular attention to the rubbed areas. Nizoral can be bought from a chemists. Dilute with hand hot water, work well in, leave 20 mins before rinsing off.

To get hair to regrow you can't beat Cornucrescene it's main purpose is to use on the coronary band to encourage hoof growth but it also works just as well for hair, and your own finger nails.

Okay thank you :) yeah had vet look at her and shes just itchy but was given deosect to spray her with. Just wanted ideas and suggestions to what might help the main etc grow back. :)

I changed my horses diet to help his feet and sweet itch. One thing I have noticed is just how quickly his coat and feet grow now. I think its probably a better diet in the main, but I also think adding linseed has really helped with coat condition and hair/hoof growth :)
