I would like some advice, my mare is very noisey behind, in almost everything but walk, it's varies to fart to guggle kind of noise, they is no discharge mare seems unconcerned and happy.
Unsure if would happen under saddle as rising 4 about to be backed.
I've heard about a caslicks op but mainly seems to be people in the USA and tb's that have this, would it be suitable for a mare so young, she hasn't been bred ( unless as a 2yr, unknown pass, but would hope unlikely), Wont be bred from me either, how common is it?, would vets be willing to do this sort of thing or does it involve battles with them being unwilling, and would it completely stop the noises?,
Or should I just leave her and see if it improves over time.
P.s. It is rather ( ok very) embarrassing, though children seem to find it funny :0).

I would have a word with your vet. Embarrassing noises aside, if she is sucking in air, she might also be taking in faeces and other nasties that could lead to uterine infection, and although you don't intend on breeding from her, it may cause her discomfort, so worth getting a professional opinion.

It is done routinely in the UK as well, in mares not being used for breeding it is usually done because they are sucking air in to their 'girl bits' which brings a risk of infection. It's not a major op or anything and is just done under standing sedation.

A friends loan mare had the op, the mare had a foal previous to her having her on loan and was never stitched up so made noises. The vet was worried about internal infections and it would be uncomfortable for the mare. The op was done under standing sedation and took no time at all to do. The mare had the runs afterwards and it ended up burning between her back legs but with treatment this was sorted too and she sounded normal :) it's well worth doing, this mare was so much more comfortable afterwards!
